Floton pumps are mainly designed for dewatering applications during flood situations and removing water from basements and low lying areas. It is also useful for irrigation and to draw water from well lakes, ponds, well, river, etc for filling tankers and fire tenders. Owing to its high volume capacity it can also be used for emergency fire fighting applications. Since these pumps float on the water surface, common problems of suction with other pumps do not exist. The pump has the capability of dry run, so it can be started and then lowered in to a well without possibility of pump being seized.
